Mighty little Schiava ought to be better known. It is one of Italy’s more unique indigenous varietals, grown in Alto Adige near the Dolomites. Elena is a passionate winemaker leading the family estate and in producing top quality wines from local grapes. It is a bright ruby color with a delicate hint of cherry on the nose. On the palate, it is harmonious and elegant due to naturally mild acidity and tannin with a pleasant bitter almond flavor on the finish. An elegant, fruity red wine with good length. This is super food friendly, from antipasti, to traditional pasta Bolognese.
